Chile's Garden, Crozet

Chile's Peach Orchard has been planting a garden with TONS of flowers, I need to go back and paint more of the flowers! This has the sunflowers which are dying back but still have that color I love.  12" x 24" oil on canvas, framed  $300   SOLD

Storm Coming, Blue Ridge Parkway

Watching this storm come over the ridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway was really thrilling! This was painted quickly to get the feel, then finished at home. 16" x 40" oil on canvas, framed  $650

Air B&B, Floyd, VA

During a very hot spell, David and I went up to 3,000 feet on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Floyd, VA and stayed in this lovely Air B&B. I was so taken by the gorgeous flowers in front of the cottage, I had to paint them. As it turns out, we are trading with the couple for a future time in this lovely spot.

I am also going back to Floyd this week to participate in The Floyd Center for the Arts, Plein Air Paint Out. Twenty-three artists paint all over the area and come together for an opening at the end, inviting the community with wine & cheese. The great thing is they find you a free place to stay! Will post paintings when I get back.

River & Summertime

I am going to paint in Floyd all next week. Floyd Center for the Arts is inviting 23 artists from around the area for their Biennial Plein Air Paint Out! I did it two years ago and had a blast, they even find you free housing for a week!

Sun & River

Painted this during a rainy day from a photo of Buffalo Creek in Rockbridge County, photo by Patrick Hinely. It's my interpretation of his photograph. 24" x 36" oil on canvas framed.

Crozet Bales

Bath County Barn

This barn in Bath County is right behind the library in Warm Springs, which is the only place that you can get free wifi! I fell in love with this leaning old barn and would like to go inside sometime.

Parkway Mountains

Mountains, Pond & Peach Bloom

Another Chile's Peach Orchard, from a high edge of the fields looking north. This is part of my normal walk in morning or evening, it was fun to paint there as well. Chile's Peach Orchard III

Chile's Peach Orchard is very close to my house, so I tried to paint several paintings during the blooming period. This one is just above their reservoir and looks out over Little Yellow Mountain.

Barbara and I up on the loading dock painting the blooms at Chile's Peach Orchard. It was so cold over night they had to spray water to set the blooms using their irrigation. I will try to go out everyday while there is color!

Pascadero, CA

Painted this during my time traveling down the coast of California. The farthest we went was Big Sur, but way to windy to paint, had fun checking out places along the way.  8" x 10" oil on board, simple frame, $150

Asilomar Beach, CA

David and I went to California for ten days earlier this month and enjoyed Monterey, Carmel and Pacific Grove. I was able to paint ten small paintings, some of which need more work. Here is one from Asilomar Beach, that we stayed near by and walked every day that we were there.

Maupin's Farm, White Hall

This is one of those farms I paint every year because I love this scene with these mountains and farmland. I was out about a month ago with Susan & Chloe, a warn sunny day in February. Summer Laundry Line

I started this as a plein air painting, then finished it this winter. That is an old wicker basket my mom had that I still use. We are old fashioned and hang laundry up outside all summer and by the wood stove all winter! We do NOT have a dryer! Bar Harbor, Maine
