Ginseng Mountain Lane

This is my favorite from this past weekend in Highland County. It was a very casual Paint Out with about 20 ladies painting the area. SOOO many places to paint, and a lot of long distant views. But the choices we made where where we could find SHADE. I was under a big ash tree for this one. Will be sharing a few more from the trip soon.  16" x 20"  $400. SOLD

Jarmans First Cutting

This painting I started a few days back but just finished it. I live on Jarmans Gap Rd and this is right across the road from my house looking up to the Gap. On the other side of the Gap is Skyline Drive where we hike sometimes and the Appalachian trail goes right through there too.

Two Boats

Someone had asked me about if I ever did boat paintings, and I had forgotten about this little one I did last summer on the Severn River. I went for a week of painting and stayed at a relatives home, great fun!
8" x 10" oil on canvas, painted edges, framed, $150.  Email Meg West about this painting.

First Cutting

Sorry this photo is not better! I think when the canvas is so long it is harder to photograph. This was done the other morning with my friend Polly, and I have been working on it the last few days. It is at my neighbors farm, and they have already moved the bales of hay. I got out there last evening also and did one looking the other direction, practical while they were taking the bales I was painting! Will try to re-photograph it later.
12" x 48"  oil on canvas, $550. SOLD

Here is the view of Rockfish Gap from the second pull-off going south on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  12" x 12" oil on canvas  $150.  SOLD

Neighbor's Shed

Well, this is at our friends home in Crozet, looking across to the golf course. The three of us went this morning. I was too distracted to do a larger one . . . and we will be back soon. There are about a dozen paintings to do just around their home and new big barn. They have an old red small tracker too that I HAVE to paint!
8" x 8" on 1" MDF board  $95.  SOLD

Red Barn, Crozet

Painted this yesterday with Karen and Nancy just a few miles down the road at this old apple orchard. This was the packing barn. It is now owned by a new person and we are hoping to go paint there again soon. The three of us want to show our paintings together side-by-side next year, so we will hold onto one painting a month. This will be the first one, and I am delighted to house this for the year! Will let you know when and where the show is!  16" x 20" oil on board.
