Rockfish Valley, Fall

I painted this on site two years ago and finished it recently in the studio. This is one of my favorite sites on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and I paint it in all seasons. The Highlands, Virginia

I have painted this before and when I came across the photo again, I fell in love with it, and decided to paint it! The Highlands are in Virginia west of Monterey but look towards West Virginia, and the Allegheny Mountains. Morning Light in the Vineyard

Back Field of Veritas Vineyards

Painted this end of July at a back field of Veritas Vineyards. It was very hot but I found a spot under a tree, and enjoyed the view and shade. This view was a part I had never been to before. 24" x 30" oil on canvas, framed, $825.

Flying Fox Vineyard

Painted this from the view of Flying Fox Vineyards which are connected to Veritas Vineyard in Nelson County. Their tasting room is very separate and on route 151 towards Wintergreen, but before you turn off for Veritas. 10" x 20" oil on canvas, framed $285

Gone Fishin'

Three Ridges, Wintergreen

Went up to Wintergreen in early June to paint this large plein air painting on location. Gorgeous day and was entertained by some singing staff enjoying the day as well. 30" x 48" oil on canvas, framed $1,800.00 SOLD

Old Rag from Thorofare Mtn Overlook

Went up this summer to paint Old Rag from Therofare Mountain Overlook. The temperature was perfect, not too hot and it was a clear day. Laurel Point Retreat

This is the panoramic view from Laurel Point Retreat in Monterey, Virginia. I painted there the end of June with several other painters for the Paint Out with the Highland County Arts Council. This was my fifteenth year of going! I don't know why I love doing these distant views, but I keep coming back to them. Had fun painting at Chile's several times with three other painting friends this month. We would go early in the morning and stop around 9:30 because it became too hot. Two Barns

This was painted in Highland County in June on Sugar Maple Road near Glue Grass valley. I was staying with four other painters in a rented house, looking at Snowy Mountain. We had a beautiful long weekend! 11" x 14" oil on canvas, framed $275 SOLD

Blue Ridge Parkway

Monticello's Garden

Winter Snow Scene

This winter scene was painted last year during a spell of cold and snow, just like we have right now! I always love the cool colors of the shadows contrasting the white and warm colors in winter. Mint Springs, Crozet

Mint Springs is our Crozet local receation park that has a playground, many trails for hiking and this pond for swimming + a fishing pond below. Ginseng Farm, Highland County

Lavender Farm, Lexington

Highland, Fence and Pond

Painted this at the end of June at the Highland Artist Paint Out. I was with seven other painter friends plus several other folks from far and near. We rented two houses and painted over four days, great food, laughs and company. This was my thirteenth year, we skipped one with Covid but managed the next year.
