New Hamden, Highland County

Had fun painting the view of the small town of New Hamden, in the Blue Grass Valley of Highland County. This is the beginning of the Potomac River! I painted with three other painter friends while keeping our social distancing, which is very easy when you paint outside!
12" x 36" oil on canvas framed, $485.  SOLD

The Little Calf River

I was invited over to Western Augusta County to my friend Maria Reardon's place. We went painting down at the bottom of the hill at Little Calf River and sure enough, cows and calves come to visit and to get a drink. I didn't get a photo of them but should have, will definitely go back sometime soon.
This painting was done mostly with a palette knife and then finished at home. Yes, I was standing IN the RIVER to do this one!
18" x 18" oil on treated board, framed  $400  SOLD

Wintergreen View

I love this view from one of the turn-outs as you go to the top of the mountain. This photograph was taken from last fall. Of course, the three Art & Craft show they have every year are canceled due to the coronavirus. If anyone is in the area of Crozet, you are welcome to drop by, I will bring this or any other paintings out on my porch to view. Please bring a mask!
24" x 36" oil on canvas, framed in VA cherry wood, $850. SOLD, thanks, Claire & Tim!

Highland's Potomac River

The Potomac River starts in Highland County, and this is a farm in New Hamden that the river runs through. The rocks on the far right are called the Devil's Backbone. We all had fun painted here two mornings in a row. 12" x 16" oil on canvas, framed $275

Laurel Fork Rd, Highland County

On the side of the road of Laurel Fork, several of us painted looking a different way. I and three other painters went to Highland County for a few nights last weekend and stayed in an Air-B&B. We each had a bedroom, a large deck with plenty of room to distance ourselves. Will post a few more paintings soon.
10" x 20" oil on canvas, framed, $250  SOLD
