Painted this two weeks ago when my husband and I camped at Lewis Mountain on Skyline Drive. He then hiked from the campgrounds to this stop, nine miles away. The distant mountain is Massanutton with the gap between, great spot for painting! 12" x 36" oil on canvas, framed $475 SOLD
Spontaneous painting two evenings ago with Isabelle and Julia. This is the open field across from my house on Jarmans Gap Rd. The field had been let go and was gorgeous with the fall colors of ironweed, wingstem, and wild grasses. Funny thing is, they came THAT evening and cut it all down and are baling it today! We caught it just in time, that is the beauty of plein air painting. 16" x 40" oil on canvas, framed $800 SOLDthanks Gina!
Painted this last week when my husband and I were camping on Skyline Drive. Pinnacle Overlook is a great spot to see Old Rag Mountain and will paint from there again soon. 26" x 42" oil on canvas, framed $1,150. Will be showing this up at Wintergreen Labor Day Festival, come by if you can! SOLD
Two recent paintings from Grace Estates Winery, the top painting is a birthday gift to the owners, being delivered in person to Switzerland! The bottom one is available . . . often folks ask me how my paintings are framed. Virginia cherry wood, rough cut from Augusta Lumber that my husband and I rip, plain, sand and stain to make our simple frames. 8" x 10" oil on canvas, framed $150 SOLD
June is so lovely in Blue Grass Valley, Highland County! Painted this when I was there for the Paint Out the end of June. But hope to go back this fall also . . . 12" x 24" oil on canvas, framed $475. SOLD
Painted this from Jewel Hollow Overlook on Skyline Drive a few weeks ago and enjoyed the light. The distant mountains are the Massenutten range. This will be hung at River District Arts gallery, 16" x 40" oil on canvas, framed.
Painted this on Saturday afternoon in Little Washington, as well as a house across from it. I don't think anyone uses this . . . I always think of them as fixer-uppers! 11" x 14" oil on canvas, framed, $250.
Painted this at 537 Main Street, Little Washington, two weekends ago when I was up in Sperryville. So many wonderful homes and spots to paint, next time I will stop by and find another one. This will be in the show along with several other paintings of mine, plus a dozen plein air painters @ River District Arts. The show is from August 16 through October 12. 11" x 14" oil on canvas, framed, $250.
A commission for Nancy and Michael from their deck up at Wintergreen, looking north east to Charlottesville. I didn't know that on a clear day you could see that far! 36" x 42" oil on canvas, framed. Thanks Nancy & Michael!

Meg West went to Philadelphia College of Art, majored in Graphic Design, and minored in Painting. After working for several years as a graphic designer, in 2000, she started painting again full time.
West paints as a localist, focusing her painting in Albemarle and surrounding
Counties, as well as Skyline Drive and The Blue Ridge Parkway.
Meg paints every day and enjoys the rhythm and momentum that comes with a steady flow of painting. The act of painting is what is important-enjoying the feeling of being connected to the environment, herself and the painting.
