Had a fabulous time at the Clifton Forge School of the Arts Paint Out last weekend, what a great group of people running the school. Thanks Judith for hosting this event. These are the only photographs I have of my paintings, happily I SOLD both of them! 

Downstream, Jackson River, Clifton Forge, VA

Went last weekend to camp and paint with my friend Elizabeth Sauder http://www.elizabethsauder.com/ on the Jackson River at Clay & Mary's property . . . thanks guys! This is the view looking downstream from their bridge. We got stuck in a mud ditch, twice . . . had to be pulled out (thanks Koal), enjoyed painting two full days, had great weather and camping time with Elizabeth! . . .  painting is 16" x 40" oil on canvas, framed  $800  SOLD

Clifton Forge Workshop

I went to a Plein-Air Painters Workshop this weekend at Clifton Forge School of the Arts, Charlie Hunter was giving it. There were ten of us and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. He taught us to paint with a very limited palette and below are his painting he did this weekend.

The setting was the town of Clifton Forge and we walked all around and set up our easels  . . . the first day I didn't really "get it" with the limited palette and I didn't have the correct surfaces to paint on.
